Challenge: Our clients needed an additional bathroom to accommodate overnight guests in their North York home. The only available space was a small, unused storage area on the second floor, which would require creative expansion into adjacent rooms to create a functional bathroom while maintaining the integrity of the surrounding spaces.
Solution: We transformed the underutilized storage space by strategically expanding on three sides toward two bedrooms and an existing ensuite bathroom. The design embraces minimalist principles with clean lines and a restrained material palette that maximizes the sense of space. By carefully planning the layout, we were able to incorporate all necessary fixtures while maintaining a spacious, uncluttered feel.
Highlights: • Space-efficient layout that makes the most of the expanded footprint • Seamless integration with the existing home architecture • Modern palette that enhances the sense of openness • Thoughtful lighting design that illuminates the space without visual clutter
Results: The new minimalist bathroom provides a perfect solution for overnight guests, adding both functionality and value to the home. This project demonstrates our ability to reimagine underutilized spaces and create elegant, practical solutions that meet specific client needs while maintaining design integrity.
